Crisis Called. Who Answered?
World Business Forum Contest Question
Last September the U.S. financial system teetered on the brink of collapse and pulled the rest of the world down with it. As I assert in 7 lessons for Leading in Crisis, this economic calamity was not caused by subprime mortgages, credit default swaps, or even excessive greed, but by failed leadership.
A year later, we can now look back with retrospective insight. In doing so, it is imperative that we profile and commend those leaders among us who demonstrated clear-thinking, forthright, and principled leadership so that they can stand as models for when the next crisis inevitably hits.
I pose this question to you, and welcome your nominees:
“Who do you believe demonstrated the finest leadership in this crisis in the field of business, public service, or social enterprise?”
Give us 200-300 words on your nominee. The winner of this contest will be provided admission at no charge to attend the World Business Forum at Radio City Music Hall on October 6th and 7th, 2009.
